Key fob programming pairs the fob's electronic components with your vehicle's receiver. Modern fobs have two communication channels: the remote control (for lock/unlock/trunk buttons) and the immobilizer transponder (for engine start authorization).
Both channels must be programmed. The remote channel uses a rolling code system - each button press sends a unique encrypted code that the car expects. The immobilizer channel uses a challenge-response authentication protocol. Our equipment programs both channels simultaneously.
A traditional transponder key only has the immobilizer chip - one programming step. A key fob has both the remote and the immobilizer - two programming steps. A smart key fob also has proximity detection - three programming components. More components = slightly more programming time, but we handle all of it in one visit.
Toyota/Lexus smart fobs, Honda smart keys, Ford Intelligent Access, GM keyless entry, Chrysler/Dodge FOBIK, Nissan Intelligent Key, Hyundai/Kia smart fobs, BMW Comfort Access, Mercedes KEYLESS-GO. Every system, every make, programmed on-site in Port St Lucie.
